After 30+ years my childhood teddy bear is back. My step mom found it buried in her closet and it’s now in my safe hands. Seeing my wife come home with my teddy after not seeing him for 30 years was priceless. Sometimes it’s the small things in life that stand out the most. Welcome back Teddy. I want to talk about perfection. I’ve had some reviews in the past that were pretty glowing except for in the review was an upset bride that said a flower was crooked or tie was not straight or the rings were not crooked. It could be one of hundreds of different things a bride is upset about. In a perfect world like on a corporate shoot where I had all day to take one photo I would have plenty of time to take a test photo say oh wow we need to change the tie of change positions or whatever.. At a wedding I’m under extreme pressure to get the photos done in Church because they are yelling at me to get done in 10 minutes because they are about to kick us out. Then there is the 20 person bridal party half of which is not listening to me. Then you have the family that I do not know and as much as I tell them to get in the right position they do not listen. If your looking for perfection at a wedding it’s simply not going to happen. The only one who can pull that off is Jesus. Seriously there are hundreds of people and hundreds of personalities and many weddings there is some sort of background drama with divorced parents that won’t even be in the same photo and the list goes on and on. We do the very, very best we can and as you can see from the results on my webs site and my 24 years experience and hundreds of national and statewide awards we are doing a pretty awesome job. But there is no way everything is going to be perfect.. If I stop for a second to fix a tie of reposition a flower or whatever will fall behind and you will lose other photos. There is simply too much going on at a wedding to fix everything. We do everything we can but I felt the need to post a blog so you can be realistic about your day.
The main reason your there is marry your best friend and soul mate.. The photos are just a bonus. I work harder then any photographer out there and have more experience then most and I will do everything in my power to make the outcome of your photos amazing but I’m only human. I can’t control the weather. I can’t control a huge bridal party that will not listen to me. I can’t control family members that will not listen to me. The best results come when you work with me and we are a team. I can’t do this alone. I need you help to get you the results you are paying me so much money for.

One things I’m known for is my unique and artistic photoshop work. Don’t worry if you don’t like this type of work you will get all you photos completely normal as well. But I’m assuming if you hire me you DO want this type of artistic effects. This is my artistic creativity at it’s best. Many times where we go for wedding photos may need some photo shop work due to many factors. One thing I can do is change an environment and help it become something it’s not by using my creative photoshop skills. Normally photographers charge extra for this type of work and most don’t know how to do it. I’m one a select few that have these high end photoshop skills from years of work in the advertising/PR business.

You have to be willing to risk failure to be successful. I took a huge risk that paid off in a huge way when I started my business. I also am willing to take risks with my photography.
No not jumping off bridges but I take chances where other photographers would take the easy way out. I’m not afraid to fail and that is my secret to success. It’s not easy but if your willing to go to a level that few will ever reach and once you get there be willing to keep taking chances the sky is the limit to where you can go. This is not for everyone I can tell you that. This is a lifetime commitment and one I’m more then happy to be in. You can’t be afraid to lose money or lose sleep or lose time or lose in some case friends. When a person becomes successful he finds out who his real friends are. Owning your own business is the hardest thing a person can ever attempt.. Anyone owning a business will agree. This is not for the weak. It will consume every waking moment of your day and forget days off.. But that’s ok because I love what I do and I love my clients.

We will travel anywhere for a wedding or corporate job for the right price. Why take a chance on some random photographer you know nothing about when you can take me with you.

Now days everyone thinks they are a photographer. Anyone can buy a digital camera and get a $200 web site and then they are a “so called” photographer. Well I say good luck with that. First of all it takes years and years of
back breaking work not to mention years of college to learn to be a “Professional” photographer. If you go to Best Buy and buy a $700 camera that does not make you a professional photographer. That makes you a person with a camera that takes pictures. There are also lots of people who have actually trained to become photographers which you can learn to do over time. That’s great. But here is the hard part. You can’t teach vision. I was born with the give to vision. I see things that the average person including other photographers don’t even see even though it’s right in front of them. I also don’t misuse my God given gift. I do right by my clients and I don’t overcharge people.
Being given the rare gift of vision is priceless and I take it very seriously. I’m trying to make a difference in this world one photograph at a time. If you hire me you will be with me on this journey and will become a part of it.
