Ken Love Style Engage Shoot

If you want boring your at the wrong place. If you want someone who thinks out of the box (way out) your at the right place. Here is a fun image from
a engagement shoot where the groom was a firefighter. So this is a fun photo I came up with. I’m pretty sure 99% of other photographers would A. never have come up with this idea and B. would not have been able to light it like this.
This is what you get when you go with the kind of experience I have. With 20+ years in the newspaper business I’m trained to think out of the box and push the envelope. My clients are Ken Love Photography clients for life. Come meet me and see why.

Wedding Reflection

Just me and my lovely wife Julie reflected in a mirror at a recent wedding.

Married

beautiful wedding rings

From Yahoo News Story.

Numerous surveys have shown that married men, especially men in their 50s, 60s, and 70s, are healthier and have lower death rates than those who never married or who are divorced or widowed. Never-married men are three times more likely to die of cardiovascular disease, for example. After 50, divorced men’s health deteriorates rapidly compared to married men’s, found a RAND Center for the Study of Aging report.

What’s the magic in the ring? The social connectedness of marriage may lower stress levels and depression, which lead to chronic illness. (Women tend to have more social ties outside of marriage.)

Oops: Unmarried men generally have poorer health habits, too — they drink more, eat worse, get less medical care, and engage in more risky behaviors (think drugs and promiscuous sex). Exception: It’s better to be single than in a strained relationship, probably because of the stress toll, say researchers in Student BMJ.

Silver lining: It’s never too late. Men who marry after 25 tend to live longer than those who wed young. And the longer a fellow stays married, the greater the boost to his well-being.

The fact that hiring Ken Love Photography to shoot your wedding also helps you live longer was not mentioned in this story.. ha,ha.. but I believe it to be true

Ya got to Crawl before you can Ball!

crawl-320x218

This is a great quote from a recent Jay Z song. “Ya got to Crawl before you can Ball” . I have to laugh because everyday my wife and business partner tells me she sees yet another
so called photographer that has appeared out of nowhere and claiming to either be a “Photographer” or have a “Photography business”. I’m here to tell ya if you go to Best Buy and buy a camera and then take
one class on photography online or otherwise that does not make you a photographer. And anyone who would hire one of these people must ask themselves why on earth would you pay someone to do photography for you
with NO experience of street cred. In the photo world I’m a Baller. I started out crawling at the age of 17 in a high school photography class. Then onto 2 photography schools where I was the top of my class at both schools.
Then I was hand picked by some of the nations top commercial photographers to train under them. I then went on to work at 7 newspapers all over the country for 20 years where I won a ton of national and start wide awards. I also worked for many ad agencies and shooting for over 100 national magazines and newspapers. And I have run my own business for almost 5 years and booking more weddings then anyone in Northeast Ohio. Anyone who has bypassed the last several steps I just mentioned may come stop by my studio so I can spray you with my garden hose so you will wake up lol. You one a camera and you took a class. Great. Don’t you dare try to fool people into thinking you a professional photographer or that you have any idea of what your doing. Don’t ruin one more persons wedding photos or any other job you may take one. Have some class and when you ready to be a baller then I welcome you with open arms. I’ll see ya in 25 years!!!!!!! ha.ha.ha.ha. Because you have a long hard road ahead of you. If you want to be a photographer that’s great.. Go crazy but don’t you dare claim your one after one class and some random cell phone photos you posted on facebook. I could go one all night.

Things to Think About?

01-red-question-mark

So it seems as if everyday 10 new “so called” wedding photographers pop up that I have never heard of? I’m concerned about that and you should be too. Anyone can get a web site and buy
a $3000 camera and take a online class or shoot a friends wedding and now they are wedding photographers. Well NO! No there are NOT! They are a person with a camera taking pictures.

The only thing you will have at the end of your wedding day you just thousands of dollars on are your wedding photos. You can’t wear your dress again. The food is gone, the DJ is gone, the guests are gone, the flowers are dead, everything you spend a year planning is all gone. But not the photos. That’s the only thing left.

So here are some things to ask the photographer your looking at.

Why are there not that many weddings or photos on your web site? On mine there are about 300 weddings and about 25,000 photos to look through showing that every wedding my work is top notch and that I never fail EVER!

What photography school did you attend? What? you didn’t go to school. ha.ha. There is a shocker. I was the best in my class at 2 photography schools.

How much experience do you have? What? only a year or two. I have 25+ years experience as a full time working photography. This is how I make a living. I’ve never had another job. EVER!

So you do photojournalistic weddings? Um no you don’t! Unless you have worked at 7 newspapers for the last 20+ years like I do you not a photojournalist. You can say you are on your web site and you may be attempting that style but until you go to school for photojournalism or work in the business your NOT a photojournalist. I just want other photographers to be honest and up front with brides and they are not always honest.

Where have you had your work published? What? never had anything published in a magazine or other publication? hummm? I have had my work published in over 200 national magazines/newspapers all over the world. And annual reports and billboards and on the sides of busses and the books.

People get into the business for the MONEY and suppose because it’s FUN! Well I think driving fast is fun but I’m not a race car driver. Do you want to chance the most important day of you life with someone that is playing photographer on the weekends and they goes back to their job at First Merit on Monday. I’m pretty sure you don’t. These are just things to think about. I have respect for anyone with my training and or experience level however I’m still coming for you lol. I have no respect for people lying to brides about who and what they are. I hear horror stories every day about the outcome of wedding photos shot by inexperienced photographers. Wedding photography is no place to dable in photograpy and to learn. you had better know what the hell you doing when you get to this level because you can not mess up a brides wedding photos. I hope you will agree

Checking Light

Check out all the cool LED lights at this Church.  I’m down at the bottom checking light.  I can tell you I almost never see a church look like that for a ceremony.   Kind of cool.  I thought was walking into a reception at first.
